Punjab team visits Karnataka to take transport tips
Chandigarh, July 13 (UNI) Punjab Transport Minister Master Mohan Lal, at head of a delegation touring Karnataka to study the transport system of the southern state, held discussions today with officials of the Transport Department in Bangalore.
A spokesman of the Transport Department said here today that the delegation visited the bus stands of Bangalore where the Punjab Transport Minister evinced keen interest in computerised system of ticketing being followed by Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) for advance booking.
He complimented KSRTC and BMTC for the high standards of cleanliness and upkeep of the bus stands. The delegation also attended a presentation by K.S.R.T.C. and B.M.T.C. the two main State Transport Undertakings of Karnataka where ideas were exchanged and information was shared on a number of common issues.
Earlier, the delegation called on the Deputy Chief Minster and Finance Minister of Karnataka B.S. Yediyurapppa.
Later in the evening, the Transport Minister of Karnataka Chaluvaraya Swamy felicitated the Punjab Transport Minister in a function.
