Mulayam sends probe team to Sharavasti

Lucknow, July 13 (UNI) Principal Opposition Samajwadi Party (SP) today constituted a team led by former Uttar Pradesh Assembly speaker Mata Prasad Pandey to probe the alleged rape of minority women in Sharavasti district.

On July 10, a group of men led by the brother of a state minister allegedly molested four minority women at village Dhannipurwa under Sisiya police station area.

The probe team was constituted on the directions of former Chief Minister and leader of Opposition in the state assembly Mulayam Singh Yadav.

The incident was a fallout of elopement of a girl named Vandana with Salim.

The team comprising Mr Pandey, Bahraich MP Ruyab Sayeeda, MLA Waqar Ahmad Shah, Awadhesh Prasad, Ramvishun Azad, Sultan Beg and Sri Lalji Yadav is scheduled to reach Sharavasti on July 14.
