MP slapped with legal notice
Rajkot, July 13 (UNI) Member of Parliament from Rajkot Dr Vallabhbhai Kathiria today said he has not received any legal notice of defamation till date from Sanjay Patel, the son of Gujarat Education Minister Anandiben Patel.
Sanjay Patel has slapped a legal notice on Dr Vallabhbhai Kathiriya demanding public apology from him after the former reportedly alleged that all contracts for printing school textbooks were being awarded to the Education Minister's son, and that the textbooks are not available in the market even a month after the schools reopened.
Mr Patel, in the notice, said he had learnt of Dr Kathiria's allegations from newspapers. Various newspapers, he said, had reported Dr Kathiria making such allegations during a Patidar meeting in Jetpur in this district recently. Dr Kathiria had reportedly alleged that there was corruption in the printing of textbooks, involving crores of rupees, and the contracts were awarded to State Education Minister's son Sanjay Patel.
Dr Kathiria told UNI he had not received any legal notice and refused further comments.
