MAPCOST to open regional centre in Jabalpur

Jabalpur, July 13 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology (MAPCOST) has announced to open its regional centre here shortly.

MAPCOST Director M P Shukla made the announcement while addressing the valedictory function of a seminar titled 'Bio Technology: Challenges and Possibilities' organised at Rani Durgawati University yesterday.

Vice-Chancellor S Pal and Head of Department Professor Karuna Sharma were also present.

''Launching of Regional Centre would be beneficial for young scientists, researchers, fellowships, research projects and other similar things,'' said Dr Shukla.

Dr Khurana asserted the next age belonged to bio-technology, as the world was heading from use of chemical fertiliser to bio-control.

Most nations were ready to pay more for bio-fertilisers while bio-scientists were taking support of nature to check chemicals from bio-control.

He felt that Indian bio-scientists were working well in this direction.

''More than 50 research papers were presented by 200 participants in easy and simple Hindi during the seminar. This would help increase its importance in science arena,'' Prof Sharma said.
