Srinagar, July 13 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir government will examine the demand of enhancement of retirment age of its employees from 58 years to 60 years.

This assurance was given by Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad to a delegation of employees headed by President Jammu and Kashmir Civil Secretariat (Non-Gazetted) Employees Union Nazir Ahmad Mir who met him and discussed issues concerning government employees.

Chief Secretary, C Phunsog, Principal Secretary, general Administration, K A Ganai and Commissioner cum Secretary, Finance, B B Vyas were also present.

An official spokesman said the demands presented by the deputation include enhancement of retirement age from 58 years to 60 years, revival of medi-claim policy and LTC, fixing of 21 years as qualifying service for pension, creation of posts of Daftaries and Photostat Machine Operators, constitution of committee for appointment of orderlies in Civil Secretariat, allotment of residential quarters to Secretariat employees as per norms, grant of two and a half days pay in favour of drivers of State Motor Garages and refreshment charges for those employees who sit for late hours.

He said the Chief Minister gave them a patient hearing and said the demands would be examined.

The employees' representatives assured Mr Azad of their full cooperation and support in his efforts to promote a healthy work culture in the administration.
