Jagdish Mukhi meets assy speaker, demands spl session on CAG repor
New Delhi, July 13 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Legislative Assembly Jagdish Mukhi today demanded a special session of the House to lay down Action Taken Report (ATR) on CAG and PAC reports on privatisation of the Delhi Vidyut Board.
Dr Mukhi, who led a delegation of BJP MLAs to Delhi Assembly Speaker Prem Singh, the Public accounts committee (2005-06) of the Assembly laid down on floor of the house its annual reports regarding irregularities in the privatisation of the DVB and scam in issuance of smart cards by the transport department. The reports, unanimously adopted by the House, recommended handing over both the matters to the CBI for investigation and the matter regarding senior officers involved in privatisation of DVB be handed over to Central Vigilance Commission.
It was also said in its report that the ATR be brought to knowledge of the house withing three months.
Dr Mukhi said he had written to the Speaker on December 15 last year for handing over of the matter to the privilege committee of the house and thereafter written to him again on January 18 asking about the action taken on his request.
However, till date, he said, he had not recieved any reply to his or information about action taken in this regard.
Now, the Delhi High Court has in its July 2 judgement asked the government about action taken on these reports. So, the state government must tell the assembly about progress made in the matter.
