IRDP lists in HP being updated, says CM

Shimla, July 13 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said Integrated Rural Development Programme (IRDP) lists were being updated.

Addressing a public meeting at Kunihar in Solan district of the state after inaugurating a Rs 67 lakh community health centre building, he said names of the left out eligible families were being added to the list, while ineligible families were being deleted.

The demand for inclusion of names in the IRDP families would be looked into in the next three months and requests could be forwarded to concerned local gram panchayats, sub-divisional magistrates and deputy commissioners.

On the other hand, names of ineligible families would be deleted from the IRDP list after observing all codal formalities, he said.

He said Himachal Government had recently secured World Bank loan of Rs 1,000 crore of which Rs 900 crore was grant, while the remaining Rs 100 crore was a loan that would be repaid in a 25-year period in installments.

The state government had approached the Bank for another loan of about Rs 800 crore for carrying out infrastructural development in the state, he added.

The Chief Minister said Himachal was the only state in the country, which made a provision of Rs 100 crore subsidy for providing cheap rations to its people through fair price shops.

The essential commodities were made available to 'Antyodaya', BPL, IRDP families and every ration card holder at a rate cheaper than the market prices, he said.

Besides, the government was also providing subsidy on all citrus fruits to ensure remunerative prices to the fruits growers of the state, he said.

Mr Singh also announced the upgradation of Kunihar Government Girls Middle School to Senior Secondary School and to be named as Kamla Nehru Government Senior Secondary School for Girls. He also announced an ITI for Arki area of the district.
