Govt vetting proposal for privatising some colleges: Minister
Bangalore, July 13 (UNI) Karnataka Parliamentary Affairs Minister M P Prakash today said a proposal for privatisation of colleges offering courses in dairy farming, fisheries and agriculture in the context of globalisation was under the State Government's consideration.
Replying to a query by Mr Bosaraj of (Cong) in the Legislative Assembly, Mr Prakash said the Government was going slow on the setting up of a new Agricultural University at Raichur following the new trend already in practice in Maharashtra.
The Cabinet had given its approval for setting up of a University at Raichur and formed a sub-committee to go into the details of the proposal.
Agriculture Minister Bandeppa Kashempur earlier said the sub committee had been set up to hasten work on the project after dealing with some technical issues.
