Government has failed in fulfilling promises, says Dhumal
Hamirpur, Jul 13 (UNI) Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal today criticised the state Congress Government for failing to fulfil promises made to the electorate during the last assembly elections.
Due to the government's failure to address the concerns of the people, the poor were becoming poorer, while the rich were thriving, he said, while addressing party workers on the occasion of day-long dharna here.
Mr Dhumal said the Congress-led governments at the Centre and the state should be voted out for failing to provide a clean, transparent and an efficient government and live up to the expectations of the people.
''If these governments are allowed to function any more, the nation would be doomed,'' he said.
Braving heavy rains with umbrellas and raincoats, workers gathered in large number to listen to their leaders while on a dharna.
The BJP leaders also presented a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner to be forwarded to the HP Governor for action against the state government.
