Former Minister alleges attempt on life by SHO

Jaipur, July 13(UNI) Former Congress Minister Mrs Hamida Begum alleged attempt on her life by Dudhwakhera SHO in Churu district.

Addressing a press conference here today at the Congress Party headquarters, she alleged the SHO was acting at the behest of Rajasthan PWD Minister Rajendra Singh Rathore.

Narrating the incident, Mrs Begum said she was returning home after attending a marriage function at about 2200hrs on July 7. At Dhudwakhra level crossing, a police jeep attempted to overtake her vehicle. Dhudwakhera SHO Jamnalal Meena was on the drivers seat in his uniform while Girwar Singh Rathore was also on the front seat.

The SHO was in an inebriated condition. She said again her vehicle was intercpeted by the police jeep at Laxman Singh village. The former Minister said when they asked the reason for stopping the vehicle, the police official used abusive language and tried to manhandle them. They also threatened to eliminate her.

The incident was promptly reported to the Churu district Superintendent of Police and the DGP of Rajasthan but till now no action was initiated againt the police official.

Mrs Begum alleged that the SHO is hand in glove with the liquor mafia operating in the district and is enjoying political protection by Rajasthan PWD Minister Rajendra Singh Rathore.

She demanded a probe into the incident and action against the official.
