DPI welcomes annuling of Cooperative elections

Chennai, July 13: Dalit Panthers of India (DPI) General Secretary Thol Tirumavalavan today called on DMK President and Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and thanked him for annulling the Cooperative elections in the State.

The meeting last about 20 minutes, official sources said.

Later, talking to reporters, the Dalit leader said during the meeting he thanked the Chief Minister for annulling the polls in the wake of receipt of large scale violations.

DPI is a constituent of the DMK-led DPA.
