DHBVN introduces CFL in 130 villages
Chandigarh, July 13 (UNI) As many as 130 villages of nine districts under the jurisdiction of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) have started using Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs) and this has reduced the average load on transformers to about 40 per cent during peak load hours.
A DHVBN spokesman said the Nigam had recently got completed the replacement of traditional incandescent bulbs with CFLs in three villages of district Gurgaon namely Chudpur, Langra and Garhi Vinoda.
He said the teams of the DHBVN officials camped in these villages and motivate the residents to replace power guzzler yellow bulbs with the energy efficient CFLs.
The spokesman said that with the reduction of load on power distribution transformer, especially during the peak load hours, there would be no interruptions in power supply due to overloading and voltage level in the villages would also improve, he added.
