Court frames charges against RJD MP Md Shahabuddin

Siwan, July 13 (UNI) A special court today framed charges against incarcerated RJD MP Md Shahabuddin and eight others in connection with attempted to murder, murder and kidnapping cases.

After completion of the hearing and trial in the case, special court judge Gyaneshwar Srivastav framed the charges against Md Shahabuddin and eight others under sections 147, 148, 149,302, 307, 324,353, 427 and 435 of IPC and under arms act.

As per the case eight people, including a havaldar, were shot dead in the indiscriminate firing from the house of Md Shahabuddin during a raid conducted at Pratapur village in Siwan district on March 16, 2001. The then district magistrate Rashid Ahmad and Police superintendent Bachuchu Singh Meena had jointly ordered the raid.

Md Shahabuddin currently lodged in Siwan jail had already been convicted and awarded imprisonment ranging from two years to lifer in three separate cases.
