Bus owners calls Chakka bandh from July 20

Imphal, July 13 (UNI) The Tiddim Road Bus Owners' Joint Co-ordinating Committee has announced that it will call 'chakka bandh' from July 20 if the government fails to clear the hiring charges for the vehicles used during the 9th Assembly elections held in February last.

The Tousang Road Motor Owners' Transport Co-operative Society (Ningthoukhong), Kumbi Road Motor Owners' and Transport Workers' CS Ltd and Thanga Road Owners Society have supported the stand of the committee.

The State Election Department did not clear the bills for the vehicles used during the elections, which put the bus owners into deep financial orisis, it was stated.
