Arrested Maoist files habeas corpus petition

Chennai, July 13 (UNI) Arrested Maoist Sundaramurthy today filed a habeas corpus petition in Madras High Court, seeking production of two persons arrested along with him.

In the petition filed before Justice P Bhanumathi, Mr Sundarmurthy contended that he was arrested along with four persons - Karthik, Easwaran, Suresh and Aurur Kumaran - on July eight at Tirupur. While he was produced before a special court here, Karthik and Easwaran were produced at a court in Periyakulam on July 11. However, the details of the two other arrested were still not known, he submitted.

Justice Bhanumathi ordered the Public Prosecutor to submit a report about the two arrested.
