Airtel network in villages
Indore, July 13(UNI) Leading mobile service provider Bharti Airtel has been expanding its network on an average rate to 20 villages every day in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, according to its COO Sunil K Goyal.
Launching handsets at Rs 1499 with lifetime validity offer here today, Mr Goyal told mediapersons that the company at present provides network coverage in more than 12,500 villages and over 440 towns of MP and CG circle. He said the new scheme of offering handsets at Rs 1499 with lifetime validity will help to expand the mobile telephony market and take mobile affordability to a new level from the towns to the rural markets.
Mr Goyal claimed that the offer was first from a wireless mobile operator anywhere in the world.
Airtel has 42.68 million customers at the end of May 2007 in which 40.74 million are mobile customers.In MP and Chhattisgarh region, the company has 17 lakh mobile customers.
