Airtel expands network in villages
Indore, July 13 (UNI) Leading mobile service provider Bharti Airtel has been expanding its network on an average rate to 20 villages every day in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
''The new scheme of offering handsets at Rs 1,499 with lifetime validity will help to expand the mobile telephony market and take mobile affordability to a new level from the towns to the rural markets,'' company Chief Operating Officer Sunil K Goyal told reporters here today.
Launching the handsets at Rs 1,499 with lifetime validity offer, Mr Goyal said the company at present provides network coverage in more than 12,500 villages and over 440 towns of MP and CG circle.
He claimed that the offer was first from a wireless mobile operator anywhere in the world.
In MP and Chhattisgarh region, the company has 17 lakh mobile customers.
