236 get Govt job on fake caste certificate in Chhattisgarh
Raipur, July 13 (UNI) Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh today informed the Vidhan Sabha that stern action would be taken against all those who had secured government jobs on the basis of fake caste certificates.
Replying to a question of Mr Devji Bhai Patel (BJP), he said courts had already issued certain guidelines with regard to cases of caste certificates.
''Our government is strictly following these guidelines'', he said adding that appropriate action would be taken after conducting a departmental inquiry.
Mr Singh said a committee has identified General Administration Department's six employees, who allegedly used fake caste certiicate to secure government job. He said opinion of Advocate General has been sought for taking action against them.
Mr Patel called for stern action against all those government employees, who used fake certificate to secure jobs and snatched the opportunities meant for the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes.
Alleging that some officials were trying to save such employees, he said it was a matter of concern that no action was being taken by the General Administration Department, held by the Chief Minister.
Out of the total 236 identified cases of fake caste certificate, 75 cases were in GAD alone, he added.
Leader of the opposition Mahendra Karma did not agree with departmental inquiry in such cases saying that it could be challenged.
