Mahu Mangat, July 12: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has said that areas cut off from cities and towns and perched in mountains would receive special attention in matters of development, and every village would be provided road connectivity in the next four years.

He said that speedy development of far-flung and backward areas was high on agenda of his government, adding that so far neglected areas would get their due share from the State coffers.

Addressing a large public meeting in this far off and under- developed area of Banihal tehsil, he said he considered it a great sin to deprive the people of such areas from the fruits of development and basic amenities.

He said it was not difficult to imagine the hardships encountered by people in the absence of basic amenities like roads, hospitals and drinking water.

Referring to the priorities of his government, the Chief Minister said that in the next four years every village in the state would be provided road connectivity.

He said the purpose of creating eight new districts in the state was to ensure that every area of Jammu and Kashmir was benefitted with the development process initiated by his government.

He said the backward and difficult areas like Mahu-Mangat would be able to get their due share in development.

Mentioning the problems of local people, Azad said the main cause of backwardness of the area was that there was no road connectivity. He said in the absence of roads, no doctor, teacher or officer could reach such places.
