VHR on peace mission between YSR and PJR
Hyderabad, July 12 (UNI) Senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao today called on MLA and former Congress Legislature Party leader P Janardhana Reddy, whose son had been arrested in connection with a street brawl following a complaint from Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's kin, to settle the differences amicably.
Mr Rao met with the family members of Mr Reddy, who had threatened to go on indefinite fast from coming Monday if the police failed to arrest Chief Minister's brother-in-law Ravindranath Reddy and nephew Sumadhur Reddy, and enquired about the incident.
He also met the Chief Minister's kin to know first hand about the incident and the subsequent developments.
Stating that he continued to receive life threatening calls, Mr Janardhan Reddy later told reporters that, ''I am ready to sacrifice even my life to end goondaism in the state''.
''I and my family members have never faced such humiliation and harassment even during the previous TDP regime while leading large number of agitations,'' he lamented, maintaining that Deputy Commissioner of Police Madhusudan Reddy should be suspended for ''foisting'' an attempt to murder case against his son Vishnuvardhan Reddy.
