Ticket checking drive 175 held, Rs 34,000 fine realised
Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 12 (UNI) As many as 175 persons without tickets, improper tickets and travelling in higher class with lower class tickets were held during an intensive ticket checking drive between Thiruvananthapuram-Kollam section yesterday.
They were produced before the Railway Magistrate court today and a fine to the tune of Rs 34,000 was realised, a Southern Railway release said here.
During the drive many cases of date expired and date altered season tickets were detected.
Warrant were issued to 16 persons to appear before the Magistrate's court for travelling in higher class with improper tickets and preventing the ticket checking staff from discharging their duty and for unauthorised entry into coaches, the release added.
