Aurangabad, July 12 (UNI) With the suspension of the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) B U Palve, total number of policemen suspended for their alleged involvement in the sex racket, busted in the city recently, has reached six.

City Police Commissioner Uddhav Kamble today told UNI that the suspension orders of Palve and Deputy Superintendent of Police(DSP) Shivaji Kamble were issued by the Home department on July 10. The the other accused namely Dulbaji Dhakne, Shaikh Azhar, shaikh Gaffer and Mohammed Saijed were suspended earlier.

It may be recalled that the Kranthi Chowk police had busted a sex racket and rescued a 15-year-old girl from the clutches of an aunty and some agents on April 22.

In her statement given to the police, the minor girl had charged ACP Palve, DSP Kamble, PSI Dulbaji Dhakne, police constables Shaikh Gafar and Shaikh Azhar and others with raping her.

''The accused were helped in this nefarious act by an aunty,'' she added.

The sensational disclosure by the girl had rocked the entire state, especially the police department. As a result, the government had ordered a CID probe into the scandal.

Meanwhile, Palve, Kamble and others have been granted anticipatory bail by the Aurangabad bench of the Bombay High Court.
