RBI Board meets in Chennai

Chennai, July 12 (UNI) The Central Board of Directors of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) met here today to review key economic, monetary and financial development.

The Central Board of RBI meetings are held every year in four metros, New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai, apart from holding meetings at three state centres by rotation.

Chaired by RBI governor Dr Y V Reddy, the board meeting also discussed for providing overall direction to its affairs.

The members present at the meeting were Y H Malegam, Suresh D Tendulkar, Prof U R Rao, Laxmi Chand, H P Ranina, Dr Ashok S Ganguly, Shashi Rajagopalan, Dr A Vaidyanathan, Prof. M M Sharma, Dr D Jayavarthanavelu and Sanjay Labroo.

RBI Deputy governors Dr Rakesh Mohan, V Leeladhar, S Gopinath and Usha Thorat, were also present in the meeting.

Howver, detail information about the meeting was not divulged to newspersons.
