Rain cools capital after hot-n-humid day
New Delhi, July 12 (UNI) Heavy showers cooled the Capital after a weeklong hiatus bringing down temperatures considerably, much to the relief of Delhiites.
After a long hot and humid day where the maximum temperature touched 39 degrees Celsius and humidity shot up to 84 per cent, rains came as a pleasant surprise as the weatherman had predicted ''no likelihood of heavy rainfall in the next couple of days'' adding that the dry spell is likely to continue for another one or two days.
Before the rains in the evening brought relief to the common man, the weather throughout the day ranged between 'intensely hot and muggy' to 'hot and humid'.
Even as the day's minimum temperature was 29.0 degrees, two degrees more than normal, and maximum logged 39.0 degrees, three above normal, humidity rose substantially during daytime with maximum reaching 84 per cent.
However, the IMD has predicted partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain/thunderstorm for the next 24 hrs.
