Police stations in HP being modernised, says CM

Shimla, July 12 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said all police stations were being modernised and necessary infrastructure was being created to maintain law and order in the state.

"Apart from the modernisation of the police stations steps are being taken to provide best facilities to the police personnel,'' he said after inaugurating Dhalli Police Station, which has been constructed at a cost of Rs 42 lakh.

Mr Singh said police personnel were also being provided housing facilities and plans were afoot to construct houses close to the police stations.

Referring to the new HP Police Act being drafted in the state, he said this was being prepared keeping in view the prevailing conditions. The new Act would help in maintaining law and order situation in the state, he added.

Local legislators Harbhajan Singh Bhajji, Sohan Lal, Shimla Municipal Corporation Mayor Narender Kataria and several other prominent people were also present on the occasion.
