Police recovers body of a slain LAEF militant

Shillong, July 12 (UNI) Meghalaya police today recovered the body of an unidentified slain militant of the Liberation Achik Elite Force (LAEF) from West Khasi Hills district.

Superintendent of Police Dalton P Marak said the militant succumbed to his injuries in a fierce encounter that took place yesterday at Chobeng village under Shallang Police Outpost.

Security personnel killed Randalin Sangma, a senior LAEF militant on the spot and seized five live hand grenades and a revolver from the site of the encounter.

Meanwhile, the police are continuing with the combing operations to nab the other militants.
