Patni Atyachar Virodhi Sangh pledges support to Pooja's husband
Rajkot, July 12 (UNI) While National Women's Commission members heard the woes of Pooja Chauhan yesterday, members of Akhil Bhartiya Patni Atyachar Virodhi Sangh (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty against Husbands) has decided to lend their support to Pooja's husband Pratapsinh.
The Sangh has planned to stage a ''dharna'' at Trikonbagh here tomorrow and later submit a memorandum to the Police Commissioner.
Pratapsinh has become a member of this group and has stated that he was the ''victim'' of his wife's harassment. Pooja often harrased him and his mother Hansaba, he claimed. A Sangh member alleged that the Domestic Violence Act is often misused and Pooja has done the same.
The Sangh's president, Dashrath Davda, said members of his organisation had met Pratapsinh and had assured him of their assistance.
Mr Davda said there are a number of laws which safeguard the woman's interests, but there are no laws to safeguard husbands from quarrelsome wives.
