No decision on power tariff hike: Minister

Thiruvananthapuram, July 12: Kerala Electricity Minister A K Balan today told the Assembly the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) had recommended a hike in electricity tariff in the state.

However, the government had not taken any decision on this so far, he said in a written reply to Mr A A Aziz and others.

In its tariff petition submitted to the Regulatory Commission, the KSEB said the hike would in anyway affect agriculture and domestic consumers, he added.

Mr Balan clarified the recommendations for tariff hike were only for big industries and establishments.
