New Delhi, July 12 (UNI) In the backdrop of the External Affairs Ministry giving a go ahead for the safe return of 63 Pakistani asylum seekers in India, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has asked them to respond to the report within two weeks.

The Commission took up their case with the Home and External Affairs Ministries after a complaint filed by their representative Ms Neelima Prabhu, member of Supreme Council of Mehdi Foundation International, that they were to be deported.

She had expressed the fear that the people might be executed in Pakistan under the stringent-blasphemy laws.

As per the comments of the External Affairs Ministry, all the 63 people obtained visa from the Indian High Commission on the basis of fake letters of reference.

Officials of the Ministry also got in touch with the Indian High Commission in Pakistan who said there was no well-founded evidence to suggest persecution of these people on their return.

The Pakistani nationals held a demonstration at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, where they burnt their travel documents-- passports and visas.
