Nepali woman drug trafficker jumps to death

Dehradun, July 12 (UNI) A Nepali woman drug trafficker who was arrested yesterday jumped to death in Champawat district of Uttarakhand, today.

Police said Janki Devi (42) and Bachli Devi (38) both from Kanchanpur, Nepal, were caught with 2.6 kg of charas the previous day from Banbasa border.

They were being taken to Champawat headquarters today with police escort when both the accused alighted from the jeep on some pretextat Tiffin Top Bend, 52 km away from Champawat Headquarter at around 1215 hrs.

Suddenly taking her police escort by surprise, Janaki Devi jumped into 300 ft deep gorge and died instantly.

Both the accused were being taken in a private public jeep escorted by a lady and a male constables.
