Khanna convenes crucial meeting of Kandi ministers, MLAs

Chandigarh, July 12 (UNI) Member Parliament and former Punjab BJP chief Avinash Rai Khanna has convened a meeting of BJP-SAD ministers, MLAs, ex-ministers, panch-sarpanches and prominent social activists from the Kandi area, in Chandigarh on July 14, to discuss the crucial issue of repealing of the contentious Punjab Land Preservation Act, 1900.

In a press note issued here, BJP national executive member of BJP youth wing, Vineet Joshi said that Saturday's meeting had been convened in the wake of recommendations and legal opinion of Advocate General of Punjab Hardev Singh Mattewal to the Punjab Government favouring the repealing of PLPA.

The AG's recommendations have come as a shot in the arm of BJP, as the issue also topped the party's pre-poll promise list.
