Key metals rise on strong global advice

Mumbai, July 12 (UNI) Select metal prices in ferrous and non-ferrous segments today witnessed an upward trend on fresh industrial demand and bullish advice from London Metal Exchange (LME), traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said today.

In the ferrous category, copper utensils and copper heavy prices hiked by Rs 200 per quintal each while brass utensils and its cuttings also hardened by Rs 100 each on sustained heavy demand, induced by encouraging advice from LME, traders informed.

In the non-ferrous category, copper wire bars rose by Rs 200 while lead ingots too gained by Rs 300 per quintal, traders added.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 35,500, Copper utensils - Rs 32,000, Brass utensils - Rs 25,700, Brass cuttings - Rs 27,400 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,400.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 39,000, Aluminium ingots - Rs 13,500, Zinc slabs - Rs 17,800, Lead ingots - Rs 10,700, Tin slab - Rs 690 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,520 (per kg).
