Kailash Joshi fires broadside at Pratibha
Bhopal, July 12 (UNI) BJP leader and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kailash Joshi today said everyone should bear in mind that the nation's President must be a personage with a clean image and a protector of the highest constitutional post's prestige.
''It must not be forgotten that in the seventies, the Rashtrapati Bhavan's prestige suffered and the citizens were deprived of basic rights,'' the MP said in a statement here.
Pointing out that allegations levelled against UPA presidential candidate Pratibha Patil could not be dismissed by being described as ''politically-inspired,'' he added that evidence made headlines and should be properly analysed.
''The Congress President has already undervalued the Premier's office. NDA-supported Bhairon Singh Shekhawat is the most appropriate nominee for the President's post,'' Mr Joshi said.
