JD (S) to observe protest-day on Aug 14
Kozhikode, July 12 (UNI) The Janata Dal (Secular) will observe August 14 as a protest-day throughout the country against the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance Government's decision to allow multinational Walmart into the retail sector in the country.
''It is a shame on the part of the UPA government to grant licence to the 135 billion dollar firm even as the other developed nations were hesitant to allow it to operate in their countries,'' Party General Secretary Varughese George said in a release, here today.
The party has also decided to intensify its agitation against MNCs in the country, the release added.
