India offers assistance to Libya in power infrastructure

New Delhi, July 12 (UNI) India today offered assistance to Libya in expanding its infrastructure in the power sector and in training human resource.

The offer was made by Heavy Industries Minister Sontosh Mohan Dev during his meeting with Libyan Minister for Economy, Trade and Investment Ali Abdullah Al-Essawi here.

''BHEL is our flagship power equipment manufacturing company. We will be very glad to help you in expanding your infrastructure in power and in training human resource,'' Mr Dev said.

He also expressed the hope that ECCO, an Indo-Libyan Joint Venture Company formed in 1979, would become the leading company for the two countries to promote mutual interest not only in Libya but also in other African countries.

''It would be a win win situation for both countries,'' he added.
