Heavy rains lash city
Chennai, July 12 (UNI) Heavy rains in the city for the past couple of days has brought down the temperature, while the weather office today forecast thunder showers in the state capital in the next 48 hours.
According to the met office here, as the South West monsoon weakend over the northern region of the country, a perfect rainy season had started over the region.
The rains, coupled with cool winds, brought the mercury down by several degrees.
The minimum temperature recorded in the city today was 24 degree Celsius and the maximum temperature was about 36 degre Celsius.
Four centimetres of rain was recorded during the last 24 hours here, the officials said.
