HBO to launch new series 'Entourage'
Mumbai, July 12 (UNI) HBO entertainment, a leading English movie channel, has announced the launch of its Emmy award winning original series 'Entourage' in India.
A funny, often risque, raunchy telling of the temptations of the life of an upcoming actor, 'Entourage' offers a peek into the highs and lows of celebrity life in Hollywood.
Announcing the launch yesterday, HBO senior vice president (programming and presentation) Robert Lyons said ''HBO's endeavour is to provide its audience the best of international programming and content across genres.'' ''The HBO original series productions are renowned for their story-lines, technical quality, casting and direction. As with other HBO original series, such as 'Sex and the City' and 'Band of Brothers', 'Entourage' should do well in India, as it has done in other countries,'' he added.
Shruti Bajpai, South Asia Country Manager of the network, said '' 'Entourage' will find a ready connect with every young Indian, who dares all for success. It is funny, touching and gripping. Above all, it has great lines, great acting and great entertainment''.
The series revolves around Vince Chase, a hot young movie actor in Hollywood whose career is just taking off. To share the fun of his ride and keep him grounded, Vince looks to his long-time pals from Queens, his entourage of friends.
HBO will air two seasons of the series in India with 22 episodes.
The first two half-hour episodes will premiere back to back on July 15 at 1000 hrs and subsequent episodes will run every Sunday after the telecast of movie at 2000 hrs.
Launched in September 2000, HBO is a 24-hour English language channel offering its programmes to viewers in India and across South Asia, a choice of more than 90 Hollywood movies every month, of which 30 are new to the service.
