Kolkata, Jul 12 (UNI) Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee today alleged that the Tata Motors had secretly tied up with the foreign motor manufacturer Ford Company for the Singur project.

Addressing a rally, organised by the AITTCC, party's trade wing, Ms Banerjee charged the CPI(M) with taking "cut money" from the small car project.

" I met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in Delhi and told him that according to the Right to Information Act everybody has the right to know the details of the deal between the state government and the Tata Motors. But the ruling Front refused to furnish the details, saying it was a secret matter, " Ms Banerjee said.

" I am of firm view that a clandestine deal has been hammered between Ford and Tata Motors for the project and the CPI(M) was taking cut money, " she stated.

She said, " We are not against industrialisation but opposing the injustice meted out to the farmers by the CPI(M)-led government for forcibly acquiring agricultural land. We are in favour of globalisation, which means development, but the ruling Front is misusing it, " Ms Banerjee said.
