Diamond auctioned for Rs 14.85 lakh

Panna, MP, July 12 (UNI) A 15-carat diamond, the largest among 380 on display, was purchased by Mumbai-based company Raunak Gems for Rs 14.85 lakh today, the last day of an auction in this district headquarters famous for its diamond output.

''The gem was found by one Mahendra Dixit. A total of 255 diamonds -- of total weight 281 carat -- were auctioned for Rs 21.45 lakh,'' Minerals Officer G K Solanki told UNI
