CM's brother ridicules Janardhana Reddy's demand for arrest
Hyderabad, July 12 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's brother Y S Ravindranath Reddy today ridiculed the Senior Congress MLA P Janardhana Reddy's demand for his arrest along with his son, on an attempt to murder charge.
Addressing a joint press conference with his son Y Sumadhura Reddy here, he said there was no meaning in Janardhana Reddy's demand as it was Mr Janardhan Reddy's son Vishnuvardhan Reddy and his followers who had severely beaten him and his son on Sunday.
While giving the details of the incident, he said they had received 40 to 50 blows and were slowly recovering. He said he was very much disturbed by Janardhan Reddy's distorted statements.
Though it was a private issue involving his family and Janardhana Reddy's son, it was unfortunate that some parties were trying to politicise the issue. Let the law take its own course, he added.
It was unfair on the part of some leaders including Congress MLA M Sasidhar Reddy demanding the suspension of Deputy Commissioner of Police Madhusudhana Reddy and arrest of himself and his son for alleged attempt to murder.
''Does he (Mr Janardhan Reddy) want us to be arrested for still being alive after the attack. I am unable to understand how he decided to resort to hunger strike though his son and his followers' were at fault'', he said.
Asked whether he would agree for any compromise, he said first Mr Janardhana Reddy should withdraw his ''unfair demands and proposed indefinite hunger strike. Then only I will think over it''.
He said Senior Congress Leader V Hanumantha Rao had met him and urged him to go for a compromise.
