Lucknow, July 12 (UNI) BJP today said it would finalise a panel of Lok Sabha election 2009 candidates by the year end.

BJP vice-president and central election management and coordination committee chief Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said here the party was preparing a strategy keeping in mind assembly polls in 11 states during 2007-08 and the 2009 LS poll.

''Keeping in mind the changing political scenario in the country, the party has drawn a state-wise strategy, which would be reviewed by BJP national president Rajnath by visiting the respective states,'' he informed.

Meanwhile, BJP has also asked Election Commission (EC) for the delimitation of the Lok Sabha and assembly seats in the country, so as to quell confusion in this regard.

''This would allow the political parties and candidates to prepare for polls as per the new delimitation arrangement,'' he suggested.

Mr Naqvi further claimed that several political parties would join the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) before the LS polls and Rajnath Singh was holding talks with the top leaders of various outfits.

Besides, the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) would also witness division after the presidential election, he clamied.

The BJP is also focussing on increasing the number of party cadres at the grassroots.

He said the political parties and leaders paid more attention of elections than public welfare, since polls remained in season round the year in the country at one place or the other.

''The EC should convene a meeting of all the political parties to evolve a consensus, so that the LS and assembly polls are held according to a schedule,'' he added.
