BJP demands CBI inquiry in Wakf Board controversy
Mumbai, July 12 (UNI) Maharashtra BJP spokesman Madhav Bhandari today demanded a CBI inquiry in the allotment of properties belonging to Wakf Board in the state.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Bhandari said the local inquiry can not be conducted in proper manner since Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh's brother Dilip is also the beneficiary of the Wakf property in Aurangabad, which he got at a lesser price.
He said the Wakf property in Maharashtra is to the tune of Rs 80,000 crore and demanded that the CBI inquiry into all the allotments, after 2002, be done. It also includes the allotment of land to Mukesh Ambani in Mumbai.
There are at least 25 such cases and so a thorough inquiry should be made by CBI in this connection.
