BJP appeals to people to make party stronger

Ahmedabad, July 12 (UNI) To take the state further ahead on the path of all-round development, Gujarat BJP today appealed the people of stae to strengthen the party.

The appeal was made as part of strategy formed in view of forthcoming state assembly elections in Gujarat in December, during its executive committee which ended on second day here today, said Vijay Roopani, BJP state general secretary, here.

Mr Roopani said the Executive Committee, which met under the chairmanship of state chief Purshottam Roopala and attended by Chief Minister Narendra Modi and Gujarat Affairs in-charge Omji Mathur and other senior leaders, has decided to call upon the people of Gujarat to get united to fight against ''Divide and Rule Policy'' of the Congress.

He said the party has also decided to take its stand to 'support the patriotism not communalism' before the people of Gujarat in its election strategy.

During the meeting, Mr Mathur urged the party workers to ''take party to No 1 position as Mr Modi has taken the state to No 1 position on path of development at national level compared to all other states of India,'' Mr Roopani said.

While Mr Modi called on party workers to make a bridge between party and people of Gujarat to beat the Congress with its negative booth approach to win the votes.
