Beur jail inmates spend nights with reptiles, insects
Patna, July 12 (UNI) Prisoners lodged in the Beur Model jail here are spending a harrowing time as snakes and scorpions keep moving menacingly in their cell after dusk.
Recently, an inmate fell victim to snake bite while he was moving outside his ward.
He had been admitted to Patna Medical College and Hospital and was reportedly out of danger.
The scared and horrified prisoners had urged the jail authorities to save them from the wrath of these reptiles and insects.
However, Inspector General (prison) Sandeep Poundrik has denied the existence of any such nuisance in the jail.
''I guess these jail inmates are raising false alarms as an excuse to come out of their cells,'' he added.
