Anandiben's son demands apology from Vallabhbhai Kathiria

Ahmedabad, July 12 (UNI) Gujarat Education Minister Anandiben Patel's son Sanjay Patel, in his defamation notice sent through his lawyer a few days ago, has demanded a public apology from the BJP Lok Sabha MP (Rajkot constitutency) Dr Vallabhbhai Kathiria within a week, failing which he will be forced to go to the court.

''He has levelled a baseless charge against me that a contract was given to me by the Education board for printing of text books amounting to Rs 1-2 crore. Neither a contract was given to me nor I am involved with the board in any manner,'' Sanjay told UNI here today.

At a Patidar samaj meeting in Jethpur (Rajkot district) recently, Mr Kathiria had said there was corruption in the printing of textbooks involving crores of rupees and the contract was given to the state Education Minister's son Sanjay Patel.

Despite this, books had not been printed and there was a delay causing suffering to the students.

When UNI tried to contact Mr Kathiria, he was not available as he was in Delhi. Efforts to contact him on his mobile proved futile.
