Accused of fake passport case sent in jail
Patna, Jul 12 (UNI) Special CBI judge Radheshyam Prasad here today remanded Md Hasim Mustafa, an accused in a case of fake passport, in judicial custody till July 26.
Mustafa, a resident of South Dinajpur district of West Bengal, was produced before the designated judge after his arrest from Mumbai airport on July 2, 2007.
According to the charges, some passports were issued from Patna Passport office on the basis of fake documents and false verification of address, submitted by a sub-Inspector of Bihar police.
The accused were evading arrest due to wrong addresses furnished in the passport application.
The case was registered in 2004 and had been pending in Patna court.
Mustafa was detained at Mumbai airport on the basis of his name, passport number and date of birth and later arrested by the CBI.
