5 youths detained at Kashi Vishwanath complex set free

Varanasi, July 12 (UNI) After hours of interrogation and verification, the five youths detained at the highly sensitive Kashi Vishwanath-Gyanwapi complex here last night were this evening set free by the police.

Wasim Ahmad, Rashid Ahmad, Dilshad, Arif Hussain and Sunder Basnat, detained while moving suspiciously near the world famous Kashi Vishwanath temple last night, were set free this evening, Senior Police Superintendent S B Shirodkar said.

''They were thoroughly interrogated and verified following which nothing incriminating was found,'' he added.

Two of the detained youths Arif and Sunder were residents of Darjeeling (West Bengal), while the remaining three hailed from Maqbool Alam Road locality in Varanasi.
