4 kg heroin being smuggled from Pakistan seized

Jammu, July 12 (UNI) BSF personnel today seized four kg of heroin allegedly thrown from Pakistani side by an unidentified person on international border at R S Pura Sector in Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said.

Troops of 129 battalion of BSF at border out post (BOP) Abdullian observed a person throwing packets from across the fence. Another person, who was cutting grass this side, received the packets and started running towards the village Abdullian. On seeing this, troops chased the man and recovered four pockets (one kg each) of heroin, worth Rs four crore in the international market, from his possession.

The apprehended person revealed his identity as Rakesh of same village, sources said, adding that he was later handed over to the Narcotic Control Bureau along with the heroin packets.
