3 held for selling fake gold in Buldhana

Nagpur, July 12 (UNI) The police have arrested three persons for allegedly selling fake gold to unsuspecting victims in Buldhana district in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.

According to police, they were identified as Paratya Pawar (30), Piraji alias 'Football' Pawar and Arun Pawar, were nabbed after a mob identified one of them and gave him a thrashing in Mehkar town in the district last night. He was later handed over to the police, and his interrogation led to the arrest of his accomplices today.

The trio has duped several persons by selling them fake gold at cheap rate on some pretext, police said. They were in acute financial distress and that the material being sold was some base metal and the victims realised they had been duped only later.
