Youth dies in custody

Pathanamthitta, July 10 (UNI) A 31-year-old man, who was taken into custody by the police last night, died at a government hospital in Kozhencherry in this district today.

According to police, Manoj, a native of Ayiroor in the district, was arrested by a night patrolling police party, on finding him in suspicious conditions from a waiting shed at Madathumchal.

As he complained of uneasiness today, the police admitted him to a nearby private hospital and later shifted him to a government hospital, where he died.

His body was sent to the Kottayam Medical College Hospital for post mortem, police added.
